OERTHER'S offers a wide variety of products for your wild bird visitors, including birdbaths, feeders, and feed.

We carry many different blends of wild bird seed.  The two most popular blends are Premium Mix and our Thrifty Mix. The Premium mix has millet, black-oil sunflower seeds, safflower, milo and wheat.  The Standard mix contains cracked corn, millet, black oil sunflower seeds, milo and wheat.

Black-Oil Sunflower Seed  This seed is in most of our mixes because almost any bird will eat black-oil sunflower seed. Birds that cannot crack the seed themselves will scour the ground under the feeders picking up bits ad pieces.

Cracked Corn  Sparrow, blackbirds, jays, doves, and quail are just a few types of birds that you can expect at your feeder with cracked corn.  Some people are against using corn in bird feed because along with the smaller birds you can also attract squirrels and larger, more aggressive birds.

Safflower  This white, thin-shelled, concical seed is eaten by many birds and has the reputation for being favorite food of the northern cardinal.  It also has been claimed that squirrels and black birds do not like safflower as much as other seeds.

Nyger Seed  This seed is eagerly consumed by all the small finches-goldfinches, house, purple, and Cassin's finches, pine siskins, and redpolls.  Nyger needs to be put in a thistle feeder of some kind.  the two most common nyger feeders are a tube feeder and nyger sock.  Small finches can cling to a nyger sock and pull seeds out through the bag's mesh.

Mealworms  Most feeder birds, except goldfinches, will eat mealworms if you offer them.  Mealworms are high in protein and provides a lot of nutrition and energy for birds.  Freeze dried Mealworms are available here at OERTHER'S.
