We Marshallites understand that in order to succeed, we need to support each other and lean on each other at other times. I thought about all the times in the past seven years of growing as a new and better business owner when I did just that. I knew that I could rely on this community to have the patience and advice that I needed. In turn, I was and would be there to help and support them when they needed it.
This Christmas was a prime example of our own “George Bailey community”. I hosted my annual Christmas Tree Lane which is an event where local crafters and vendors sell their merchandise in our greenhouse for the months of November and December.
Well, the close of Christmas Tree Lane came, and as I was totaling the amounts for the vendors, I may have cried a little. Our community, our little town of Marshall, shopped local this holiday season and helped these community members sell over $3,000 worth of their handmade merchandise. That is money coming from and staying in Marshall! I no longer envied George Bailey's life because I realized that I that had the "Wonderful Life" as well.
I believe in what Henry Ford once said: “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.” Marshall is successful because we work together to grow into a better tomorrow, not just for our children and their children but also for ourselves, for everyone.
Thanks for being part of our family.
